Legal Counsel – Latin America (Hybrid)

About the role

Databricks is looking for a qualified Attorney to join its growing commercial legal team. You will be the first lawyer dedicated to supporting the company’s commercial activities across the Latin America region, reporting to the Director, Assistant General Counsel.

Key responsibilities

• Negotiate, draft and close Master Cloud Services Agreements (MCSAs) with LatAm prospects and customers, ensuring compliance with data‑privacy, information‑security and regulatory requirements.
• Partner with cross‑functional teams (sales, finance, product, compliance) locally and at headquarters to drive revenue‑generating transactions while mitigating risk.
• Maintain and update legal agreements, aligning terms and internal policies with rapid revenue growth and long‑term stability.
• Provide pragmatic, solutions‑oriented legal counsel to internal stakeholders and customers based on local requirements, Databricks technology, product portfolio, security architecture and privacy policies.
• Support company OKRs, strategic initiatives and special projects across the legal team.

Required profile

• Minimum four years of technology‑transactions experience, either in a law firm or in‑house.
• Fluency in Portuguese and Spanish; native speakers preferred.
• Commercial transactional experience with cloud‑based software companies, understanding consumption‑based business models and quarterly sales cycles.
• Proven track record drafting, negotiating and closing complex software sell‑side transactions.
• Ability to navigate complex legal issues while balancing material risk.
• Strong written and verbal communication, critical‑thinking and problem‑solving skills.
• Team‑oriented mindset with a focus on building strong interlocks with clients and stakeholders.
