Senior Backend Engineer – Data Migration Lead

About the role

AgileEngine is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to lead a critical migration from a monolithic database to multiple domain‑specific data stores on Google Cloud Platform. You will design and implement complex data operations, ensuring seamless data flow and integrity across services.

Key responsibilities

• Drive the migration from a single monolithic database to multiple GCP‑based data stores.
• Implement one‑time backfills, data mapping, filtering, and ongoing Change Data Capture (CDC) pipelines.
• Utilize GCP Datastream and Dataflow to build reliable data pipelines.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to define migration strategies and ensure minimal disruption.

Required profile

• 6+ years of professional software engineering experience, preferably at a senior or lead level.
• Proven deep expertise in large‑scale data migration projects.
• Extensive hands‑on experience with Google Cloud Platform data services, especially Datastream and Dataflow.
• Proficiency in at least one modern programming language (Kotlin, Java, Python, Node.js, or Golang).
• Upper‑intermediate English communication skills.
