Survey Engineer

About the role

UTEC, part of Acteon's Geo‑services line, is seeking qualified Survey Engineers to join its Brazil team. The role supports marine projects by ensuring all on‑site engineering work meets safety, contractual and quality standards while managing survey equipment throughout the project lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and receive handover notes at rotation changes.
• Maintain clear survey logs and report findings accurately.
• Monitor equipment status, schedule maintenance, and oversee calibration/certification.
• Communicate with survey personnel, project managers, engineering managers and equipment suppliers.
• Identify and mitigate equipment‑related technical and QHSE risks.
• Upload equipment QHSE records to the management system promptly.
• Participate in vessel mobilisation, attend inductions and QHSE briefings.
• Ensure all required documentation and permissions are obtained from third parties.
• Return mobilisation/demobilisation equipment to base or suppliers as needed.
• Review maintenance costs, suggest efficiencies and report to Operations Manager.
• Support and lead quality, health, safety and environmental (HSE) procedures, including incident reporting and risk assessments.

Required profile

• Qualified Survey Engineer with experience in marine or offshore environments.
• Ability to work effectively on vessels and offshore sites.
• Strong understanding of QHSE requirements and documentation.
