Gerente de Controladoria – Finance & Tax Leader

About the role

The company is seeking a senior finance professional to lead accounting, finance and tax functions across a multi‑entity group, with a focus on oil & gas operations in Brazil and Venezuela. You will partner directly with the CFO to drive accurate reporting, strategic planning and risk management.

Key responsibilities

• Lead accounting, finance and tax teams for the entire group.
• Ensure IFRS‑compliant financial reporting and timely month‑end, quarter‑end and year‑end closes.
• Oversee consolidation, intercompany transactions and group reporting to the CFO and investors.
• Manage tax compliance for operations, especially in Venezuela.
• Supervise financial reporting for oil & gas assets, cost tracking and performance metrics.
• Prepare quarterly and annual reports for the stock market.
• Design and strengthen internal controls and scalable financial processes.
• Coordinate external, tax and internal audits.
• Partner with the CFO on budgeting, forecasting, cash‑flow planning and strategic decisions.
• Monitor cash flow, liquidity and financial performance indicators.
• Manage foreign‑exchange and regulatory risks for international operations.
• Lead, mentor and develop a multidisciplinary finance team.
• Drive process‑improvement and automation initiatives.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
• 12+ years of progressive experience in accounting, controllership or finance leadership.
• Proven experience in the upstream oil & gas sector.
• Experience with multinational, multi‑entity structures and exposure to emerging markets such as Venezuela.
• Track record of building or transforming finance functions in scaling organizations.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of IFRS.
• Proficiency with ERP systems and financial reporting tools.
• Advanced Excel and financial modeling capabilities.
