Junior Software Engineer – Cloud & Embedded

About the role

Legrand is looking for a Junior Software Engineer to join its Data Power and Control ZPE Systems Team in Blumenau, Brazil. The role is ideal for early‑career professionals who want to work on a SaaS cloud platform and embedded Linux integrations while developing solid engineering fundamentals.

Key responsibilities

• Contribute to the design, development, and maintenance of ZPE Cloud features using clean architecture and agile delivery.
• Write and maintain code in Golang, Python, JavaScript, C, C++ and Bash.
• Participate in code reviews, learn from feedback, and improve code quality.
• Debug and resolve issues, including customer‑reported defects.
• Develop unit tests and automated test suites (integration, performance, etc.).
• Maintain open‑source dependencies for security compliance.
• Support monitoring, logging, and instrumentation for cloud services.
• Produce clear technical documentation.
• Leverage modern tools, including AI‑based assistants, for coding, debugging, and documentation tasks.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field.
• At least 1 year of software development experience.
• Strong curiosity, willingness to learn, and ability to work collaboratively.
• Good communication skills and openness to feedback.

Required skills

• Proficiency in at least one of: Python, Golang, JavaScript, C, C++.
• Basic Linux command‑line usage.
• Familiarity with Git version‑control workflows.
• Ability to write and run unit tests.
• Experience with code review practices.
• Capability to produce clear technical documentation.
