Junior Software Engineer (Python / Microservices)

About the role

IQVIA is looking for a motivated Junior Software Engineer to join the Customer360 (C360) program, a high‑visibility initiative that consolidates healthcare professional data into an AI‑ready platform. You will work with experienced engineers to build and maintain backend services, APIs, and data integrations that power advanced analytics and AI applications.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain backend services and RESTful APIs using Python.
• Design, build, and enhance microservices supporting the C360 platform.
• Integrate and process data from multiple internal and external sources.
• Write clean, maintainable, and well‑documented code.
• Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, and Agile ceremonies.
• Collaborate with senior engineers to design scalable, reliable solutions.
• Create and maintain automated tests to ensure software quality.
• Work with relational databases, contribute to data modeling and querying.
• Utilize AI‑assisted development tools to improve productivity.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or equivalent practical experience.
• Approximately 2–3 years of professional software development experience.
• Experience developing production software with Python.

Required skills

• Strong proficiency in Python.
• Experience building RESTful APIs and microservices.
• Solid understanding of SQL and relational databases (PostgreSQL preferred).
• Working knowledge of Git and version‑control best practices.
• Understanding of object‑oriented programming and software‑engineering fundamentals.
• Familiarity with automated testing practices.
• Exposure to Snowflake, Kubernetes, Docker, event‑driven architecture, message queues, asynchronous processing, Elasticsearch, basic ETL concepts, Azure cloud services, and GitLab CI/CD is highly desirable.
