Legal Specialist – Commercial & Corporate Law (Brazil)

About the role

The Legal Specialist will provide comprehensive legal advice on commercial, tax, labor, leasing, advertising and marketing matters under Brazilian law. Reporting to the South America General Manager and the Chinese headquarters' Legal Department, the role supports a multinational manufacturing company in its Brazil operations.

Key responsibilities

• Draft, review and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements, including sales, distribution, procurement, licensing, and advertising contracts.
• Handle Brazil‑specific legal issues such as tax compliance, labor law, corporate and lease contracts, and dispute resolution.
• Respond promptly to internal requests, flag legal risks and propose practical solutions.
• Coordinate with cross‑functional teams and external counsel to ensure consistent legal support.
• Support daily legal operations of the headquarters’ legal department, including corporate governance tasks.
• Monitor legislative changes, assist in policy development and deliver training as needed.

Required profile

• Law degree and bar admission in Brazil; additional certifications are a plus.
• 3‑5 years of experience in a large international law firm or a mix of firm and in‑house roles.
• Fluency in Portuguese and English; Mandarin is a plus.
• Proven experience as a commercial attorney for a multinational manufacturing company.
• Strong organizational, analytical and communication skills.
