Manager, Commercial Sales Engineering (Sao Paulo)

About the role

Datadog is looking for a Manager, Commercial Sales Engineering to join its pre-sales team in Sao Paulo. You will manage a team of Sales Engineers who qualify and close opportunities, coach them on technical presentations, product demonstrations and proof-of-concept support, and take an active technical role for key accounts. The role also nurtures strong partnerships between the SE team and other Datadog organizations. The company works in a hybrid workplace.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with the Sales Team to explain Datadog's value proposition, vision and strategy to customers
• Manage a team of individual contributors to expand Datadog usage in customer accounts
• Manage resource allocation and ensure team productivity and engagement
• Help recruit talent in the region and mentor new hires during onboarding
• Keep the team enabled on all required solutions, with technical and soft skills
• Work closely with Product Management, Support and Enablement to link pre-sales and post-sales activities
• Deliver performance reviews and run individual development plans

Required profile

• 1-3+ years in a Sales Engineering team lead or mentorship role, and 3+ years in a Sales Engineering or equivalent client-facing role
• Experience growing and developing a team, and recruiting individual contributors and frontline leaders
• Coachable, able to handle change, and able to build and run customer evaluation plans
• Strong written and oral communication, able to explain business and technical value
