Mechanical Design Engineer – São Paulo

About the role

As a Mechanical Design Engineer on the Hardware team at TRACTIAN, you will turn product concepts into robust mechanical designs for IoT devices. You will create precise 3D models and detailed drawings, applying GD&T to ensure manufacturability and reliability, while collaborating with cross‑functional teams.

Key responsibilities

• Develop 3D models and 2D drawings using CAD tools, ensuring accuracy and manufacturability.
• Apply GD&T and tolerance stack‑up analysis to control critical dimensions.
• Translate engineering concepts into clear technical documentation for suppliers.
• Review designs for compliance with standards, tolerances, and best practices.
• Collaborate with product engineers, analysts, manufacturing, firmware and quality teams to resolve design challenges.
• Maintain CAD libraries, templates, and drawing standards.
• Support prototype builds and update designs based on test results.
• Prepare technical packages for suppliers and align them with production capabilities.
• Deliver reports and presentations summarizing risks, mitigation plans, and lifecycle impact.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or a related field.
• Strong proficiency with CAD software such as SolidWorks, NX or CATIA.
• Hands‑on experience with GD&T and tolerance analysis.
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes including machining, injection molding and casting.
• Ability to create detailed technical drawings and documentation for suppliers.
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to high‑quality standards.
• Proactive communication skills and ability to work in multidisciplinary teams.
• Advanced English proficiency.
• Willingness to live in or relocate to São Paulo.
