Senior AI Backend Engineer

About the role

Pyyne is seeking a Senior AI Backend Engineer to work as a consultant out of its South American office. This high‑impact role supports the growth of Applied AI services and delivers real business value for clients.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and extend backend systems for an AI‑powered research and analysis platform built on Python.
• Build and optimise data ingestion pipelines that pull from external sources such as reviews and data warehouses into the application layer.
• Integrate Large Language Models (LLMs) and AI agents into existing backend workflows.
• Collaborate closely with a small cross‑functional team (frontend, DevOps, full‑stack) to ship features end‑to‑end.
• Ensure backend services meet production standards for reliability, performance, and data integrity.

Required profile

• Lead‑level experience in Python backend engineering (~8+ years).
• Proven experience translating business processes into technical requirements, ideally in a consulting or client‑facing delivery role.
• Experience owning a roadmap and prioritising initiatives by feasibility, ROI and readiness.
• Demonstrated stakeholder management with both technical teams and non‑technical business leaders.
• Experience working in structured, production environments.
• Fluent English, native or near‑native level.
