Senior Software Engineer – RCM Email Agents

About the role

Commure is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to design, build, and operate AI‑driven RCM Email Agents that automate high‑volume healthcare revenue‑cycle email workflows. Based in Rio de Janeiro, you will work end‑to‑end on the agent harness, backend services, data models, and production infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and run production AI agents that process RCM email workflows at scale.
• Build backend APIs and services with Python and FastAPI, and create operator‑facing React interfaces.
• Define PostgreSQL schemas and data pipelines to support workflow state, auditability, and analytics.
• Integrate agents with email systems, internal services, and third‑party platforms, and establish monitoring and alerting.
• Investigate production incidents, identify root causes, and improve system reliability.

Required profile

• Professional experience building and operating production software systems.
• Strong proficiency in Python, FastAPI, React, JavaScript/TypeScript, and PostgreSQL.
• Hands‑on experience with LLM‑powered agents, tool calling, orchestration, and human‑in‑the‑loop workflows.
• Understanding of production engineering practices such as testing, observability, and incident response.
• Experience with containers and cloud infrastructure, including Docker and Kubernetes.
