Account Director – Startup Go‑to‑Market

About the role

OpenAI is looking for an experienced Account Director to join its Startup Go‑to‑Market team in São Paulo. You will own relationships with strategically important startup customers, helping them build and scale using OpenAI’s AI models and APIs. The role blends technical understanding, strategic partnership, and cross‑functional collaboration.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of startup accounts, creating and executing comprehensive account plans.
• Partner with solutions and research engineering to design and deliver complex customer programs.
• Own consumption‑based revenue targets and forecast revenue.
• Analyze account metrics, produce insights for internal and external stakeholders.
• Monitor the startup and industry landscape to inform product road‑maps and corporate strategy.
• Collaborate with product, engineering, marketing, finance, and people operations to drive customer success.

Required profile

• 6+ years selling platform‑as‑a‑service or software‑as‑a‑service solutions.
• Experience working closely with startup ecosystems, either as a founder, employee, or partner.
• Proven ability to engage C‑level executives and communicate technical concepts.
• Track record of designing and executing complex deal strategies.
• Strong analytical skills for market and competitive intelligence.
