Android Developer – Video Playback Specialist (Remote)

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Android Developer to design and deliver high‑performance video playback solutions for Android Mobile and Android TV. The role is fully remote, based in Brazil, and focuses on building scalable streaming applications using modern Kotlin and Jetpack technologies.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain native Android applications and SDK components for mobile and Android TV platforms.
• Implement and optimise video playback features using ExoPlayer or MediaPlayer to ensure smooth, high‑quality streaming.
• Collaborate with product, UI/UX and backend teams to deliver new features and enhancements.
• Troubleshoot media‑related issues such as buffering, DRM, and playback errors.
• Write clean, well‑tested Kotlin code and participate in code reviews, unit and integration testing, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Document technical decisions and contribute to architectural discussions.
• Provide on‑call support for production incidents and mentor junior developers.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of native Android development experience.
• Strong proficiency in Kotlin and the Android SDK.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent practical experience.
• Excellent problem‑solving and communication skills.
