Controller – Financial Operations Lead

About the role

BotCity is seeking a Controller Specialist to lead financial operations and build scalable finance processes from the ground up. Reporting to the Head of Finance, you will own month‑end closings, ensure IFRS/GAAP compliance, and partner across the organization in a fast‑growing, remote environment.

Key responsibilities

• Manage end‑to‑end accounts payable, vendor payments, employee reimbursements and payroll.
• Oversee accounts receivable, invoicing, contract management and collections.
• Produce weekly and monthly cash‑flow reports with commentary.
• Lead monthly, quarterly and annual closing processes.
• Revise and standardize the chart of accounts and cost‑center structure.
• Own revenue recognition under IFRS 15, including contract review and variable consideration.
• Apply IFRS 16 (leases) and IAS 38 (intangibles/software) with supporting schedules.
• Design, document and operate internal controls to achieve audit readiness.
• Prepare financial reporting packages for leadership and investors.
• Document all financial processes, eliminate manual Excel workflows and implement automation.
• Assess and support ERP tools and integrations to improve data integrity.

Required profile

• Seasoned finance professional with Big 4 audit rigor and a startup mindset.
• Comfortable handling complex technical accounting standards in a high‑growth setting.
• Strong cross‑functional collaboration skills.
• Ability to build processes from scratch and drive continuous improvement.
