Controls Engineer – Electrical Systems Design

About the role
HMH is seeking a Controls Engineer to design, develop, test, and deploy electrical and electronic safety control systems for surface and subsea drilling equipment. The role involves independent work on control system projects, ensuring on‑time delivery and continuous improvement of system performance.
Key responsibilities
- Support the commercial bid process for customer projects and lifecycle activities.
- Design, develop, test, and deploy PLC‑based control systems and related hardware.
- Select components, manage obsolescence, and perform failure analysis.
- Conduct electronics design, including circuit and PCB layout.
- Troubleshoot and resolve control‑related issues, implementing performance enhancements.
- Drive on‑time delivery of requisition projects and software upgrades.
Required profile
- Electrical Engineer with 3–10 years of experience in control systems.
- Proven ability to work independently on design and implementation.
- Experience delivering projects on schedule and collaborating in a team environment.
- Strong analytical skills for failure analysis and system optimization.

- PLC programming and configuration.
