Director – Brazil Financial Services & Virtual Assets

About the role

Coins, the leading crypto brand in the Philippines, is expanding its Brazil entity and seeks an experienced Director to oversee governance, regulatory compliance, risk management, operational integrity and technology oversight for virtual asset services.

Key responsibilities

• Provide independent oversight and governance to senior management and the board.
• Participate in board and committee meetings, reviewing operational, compliance, financial and risk matters.
• Ensure effective internal controls, policies and governance frameworks are in place.
• Lead regulatory engagement with Banco Central do Brasil (BCB) and COAF, aligning the company with Brazilian expectations.
• Promote ethical conduct, transparency and accountability across the organization.
• Oversee compliance programs for AML/CFT, KYC/KYT, transaction monitoring, sanctions screening and SAR reporting.
• Manage enterprise risk frameworks covering operational, liquidity, market, cybersecurity and compliance risks.
• Supervise operational processes for payments, OTC, fiat on/off‑ramp activities, settlements and reconciliations, ensuring segregation of client and company funds.

Required profile

• Deep expertise in at least one functional area: Compliance & AML/CFT, Risk & Internal Controls, or Operations & Financial Integrity.
• Proven experience in governance, regulatory compliance and risk management within financial institutions or VASPs.
• Ability to work closely with senior management while maintaining independence and avoiding conflicts of interest.
• Strong understanding of Brazilian financial regulations, including BCB and COAF requirements.
