Director, Communications

About the role

The Director, Communications will shape and execute the regional communications strategy for Latin America within a mission‑driven organization focused on expanding access to life‑changing healthcare. Reporting to senior leadership, you will translate global priorities into culturally relevant narratives and lead a high‑performing communications function.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement a LATAM communications strategy, including governance, workflows, and performance metrics.
• Lead strategic storytelling and institutional narrative development to boost reputation and partner engagement.
• Oversee multi‑channel communications such as digital platforms, social media, public relations, newsletters, and institutional content.
• Build, mentor, and manage a regional communications team.
• Coordinate internal communications to ensure alignment across regional and global teams.
• Manage external agencies, vendors, and partners, ensuring quality, budget compliance, and timely delivery.
• Drive communications planning for regional events, medical congresses, and stakeholder initiatives.
• Act as the primary liaison between regional and global communications teams.

Required profile

• 15+ years of progressive communications leadership experience, preferably with regional or global scope.
• Background in nonprofit, public health, healthcare, or similarly mission‑driven environments.
• Proven ability to build or transform communications functions with scalable processes.
• Experience operating in complex, matrixed global organizations.
• Strong executive communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
