Engineering Manager

About the role

As an Engineering Manager at Sierra Studio you will lead one or more project teams, own delivery from scoping to shipping, and stay hands‑on with the code. You’ll set technical direction, mentor engineers, and partner with product, design and clients to build AI‑driven products.

Key responsibilities

• Lead projects: own end‑to‑end delivery of client or internal initiatives.
• Grow the team: mentor engineers, provide feedback and help them level up.
• Stay technical: architect solutions, review code and contribute hands‑on where needed.
• Hiring: participate in recruiting and interviewing future teammates.
• Client partnership: work directly with founders and stakeholders to turn ideas into production products.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading project teams and delivering end‑to‑end solutions.
• Strong track record of mentoring and growing engineers.
• Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
• Ability to translate vague requests into clear, phased plans.
• Senior‑level hands‑on engineer comfortable with code and architecture.

Required skills

• Python (e.g., FastAPI) or TypeScript.
• Prompt engineering, Retrieval‑Augmented Generation (RAG) and agentic patterns.
• Experience with large language models (LLMs).
• Use of AI‑enhanced development tools such as Cursor or Claude Code.
