Finance Manager – UN-Habitat Brazil (Consultant)

About the role

The Finance Manager will provide high‑quality financial management support to the UN‑Habitat Brazil portfolio. Working closely with programme, operations and project teams, the incumbent will help ensure timely delivery of outputs and robust compliance with financial regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic financial guidance and coordinate financial management processes for the Brazil Office.
• Ensure compliance with UN Financial Regulations, IPSAS, UN‑Habitat policies and donor requirements.
• Support the review, strengthening and monitoring of financial management systems and internal controls.
• Oversee financial planning, monitoring, reporting and compliance activities across the project portfolio.
• Collaborate with programme, operations and project teams to support effective implementation of financial activities.
• Report directly to the Head of the Brazil Office and maintain a functional line to the Programme Management Officer (Administration) in the Regional Office.

Required profile

• Proven experience in financial management, preferably in an international or UN context.
• Strong knowledge of UN financial regulations, IPSAS and donor reporting requirements.
• Ability to work in a multicultural environment and coordinate with diverse stakeholder groups.
• Excellent analytical and reporting skills.
