Finance Officer – Accounting & Payroll (Brazil)

About the role

World Animal Protection is seeking a careful and capable finance professional to support accurate accounting records, effective financial controls and reliable financial operations in Brazil. As a Finance Officer (Accounts) you will handle payroll, accounts payable, transaction processing, reconciliations, cash‑flow forecasting, statutory accounts and audit activity while working closely with finance colleagues across the organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Process financial transactions accurately and complete balance‑sheet and bank reconciliations.
• Support accounts payable, payroll, cash‑flow forecasting and statutory accounts activity.
• Manage finance queries and assist budget holders with relevant policies and processes.
• Work with external auditors and maintain appropriate financial records and controls.
• Support finance systems, including Microsoft Business Central, and help users work effectively with them.
• Identify process gaps and collaborate with finance colleagues to improve operational delivery.

Required profile

• Relevant experience in financial operations within a comparable organisation, including month‑end closure processing.
• Experience using Microsoft Business Central or equivalent accounting software.
• Advanced Excel skills and confidence working with financial data.
• Experience of financial transaction processing, reconciliations and accounts payable activity.
• Understanding of multicurrency accounting and the importance of robust financial controls.
• Strong attention to detail, organisation, problem‑solving and a responsive service approach.
