Legal Counsel – Brazil & Paraguay

About the role

We are looking for a business‑oriented Legal Counsel to join our legal team and support Corteva’s operations in Brazil and Paraguay. The role focuses on crop‑protection products, including biologicals, and serves as the regional hub for Legal Operations initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, review and negotiate commercial agreements and other business‑related documents.
• Support contract lifecycle management, including administration, tracking, repository governance and reporting.
• Manage powers of attorney, corporate authorizations and related governance processes.
• Provide practical legal advice to business stakeholders and support product launches, financial solutions for growers and go‑to‑market activities.
• Assist Ethics & Compliance functions with trainings, counseling, assessments and internal investigations.
• Coordinate litigation matters, monitor external counsel performance and drive data‑based decision making.
• Lead Legal Operations initiatives across the region, focusing on process improvement, automation, legal technology, templates and reporting.
• Collaborate with business units and global functions to identify risks, ensure compliance and develop pragmatic solutions.
• Support senior attorneys on cross‑functional projects and higher‑complexity matters.

Required profile

• Law degree from an accredited institution and active membership with the Brazilian Bar Association.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience as an attorney, with exposure to commercial contracts and corporate legal support.
• Advanced English writing and speaking skills (fluency strongly preferred).
• Strong organizational abilities and capacity to manage multiple matters, stakeholders and priorities.
• Proactive, detail‑oriented, results‑driven mindset with high ethical standards.
