Legal Counsel (Corporate & Commercial)

About the role

FICO is seeking an experienced Legal Counsel to join its global analytics team. The role will provide business‑focused legal guidance, helping the company innovate while managing risk across a portfolio of software, SaaS, and professional services agreements.

Key responsibilities

• Draft, review, negotiate and translate a wide range of agreements, including sales, service, subcontract, software licensing, procurement and NDAs.
• Assess contract terms such as limitation of liability, IP indemnities, license grants and warranties to ensure alignment with FICO policies.
• Support sales and business teams during RFP processes and contract approvals.
• Coordinate contract reviews across product, services and finance functions.
• Maintain and update contract templates, provide interpretation and translation as needed.
• Identify and mitigate contractual risks, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
• Raise awareness of legal obligations among business employees.

Required profile

• Law degree (JD, LLB or equivalent) from an accredited Brazilian law school with excellent academic record.
• Active OAB license in good standing.
• Minimum 5 years of transactional experience, either in‑house or at a law firm, covering cloud computing, SaaS, software licensing, and complex professional services.
• Strong knowledge of contract law, IP, privacy, data‑protection regulations (Brazil, LAC, GDPR) and labor law.
• Experience with government procurement and public‑sector agreements.
• Fluent in Portuguese and English; advanced Spanish preferred.
