Legal Counsel (International Commercial Contracts)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Legal Counsel to lead the drafting, review, and negotiation of international commercial contracts across a range of sectors. The role supports cross‑border business activities, ensuring legal compliance and risk mitigation for large‑scale projects.

Key responsibilities

• Draft, review, and negotiate term sheets, supply, service, procurement and other project‑related contracts.
• Provide legal support and risk assessments for international business activities and cross‑border projects.
• Manage contract administration, claims, disputes and commercial issues during project execution.
• Advise business teams on legal and compliance matters, delivering practical solutions.
• Oversee external law firms and legal service providers in multiple jurisdictions.
• Develop and improve contract templates, legal processes and risk‑management practices.
• Collaborate closely with commercial, project and functional teams to enable international growth.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Law.
• Minimum 8 years of legal experience, preferably in international business, energy, infrastructure, manufacturing or engineering.
• Strong track record in reviewing and negotiating international commercial contracts.
• Fluent in English and Portuguese, able to conduct negotiations and business communications independently.
• Experience working in multicultural and international environments.
• Excellent communication, commercial mindset and problem‑solving abilities.
• Experience in renewable energy or international projects is a plus.
