Mechanical Maintenance Technician II

About the role

Becton, Dickinson and Company (BD), a global medical technology company, is hiring a Mechanical Maintenance Technician II in Curitiba, Brazil. The role covers mechanical, predictive, preventive and corrective maintenance of industrial machines and equipment, machining of medium-complexity parts, and supporting process improvements.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out mechanical, predictive, preventive and corrective maintenance of industrial machines and equipment, and machine parts of medium complexity.
• Support process improvements to increase equipment yield and introduce new technologies.
• Install machines and equipment, run tests and experiments and follow up on the start of operations.
• Develop and install medium-complexity industrial automation devices (pneumatic and hydraulic circuits and mechanical drawings).
• Support validation routines (IQ - installation qualification).
• Support process engineering in achieving metrics such as OEE, RFT and scrap, proposing equipment improvements.
• Document changes to pneumatic and hydraulic diagrams and prepare technical documents and drawings for medium-complexity equipment.
• Create material lists and maintenance plans, and support production staff in machine repair and overhaul when needed.
• Follow quality policy, SSMA and BD procedures, with focus on regulatory compliance and continuous improvement.
