Programme Analyst

About the role

The United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN‑Habitat) is seeking a Programme Analyst to support the "Vida Nova no Morro" project in Niterói, Brazil. The consultant will work closely with UN‑Habitat’s operational and technical teams to strengthen municipal data systems and develop evidence‑based housing policies.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in the design and implementation of housing mapping and community mobilisation activities.
• Support the collection, analysis, and visualisation of data on informal settlements.
• Contribute to the preparation of reports, policy briefs, and recommendations aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals and the New Urban Agenda.
• Facilitate stakeholder engagement with municipal authorities, civil society, and private partners.
• Monitor project progress and ensure timely delivery of deliverables.

Required profile

• Relevant university degree in urban planning, geography, public policy, or a related field.
• Experience working on urban development, housing, or community‑based projects, preferably in Latin America.
• Strong analytical and writing skills, with the ability to produce clear, policy‑oriented documents.
• Fluency in English; Portuguese proficiency is an advantage.
