Purchaser – Equipment Procurement Lead

About the role

The Purchaser will lead end‑to‑end procurement of equipment packages, overseeing the full supply chain from requisition to delivery while ensuring compliance with BW Energy’s procedures and cost‑control targets.

Key responsibilities

• Procure small to medium equipment packages in line with supply‑chain procedures and project‑specific material management plans.
• Manage day‑to‑day procurement, expediting, and control of the supply chain for a group of units.
• Liaise with freight forwarders, logistics teams, and clients to consolidate orders and minimise freight and customs costs.
• Ensure quality and suitability of spares and equipment in collaboration with relevant departments.
• Maintain and update the IFS database, verify pending purchase requisitions, and provide regular procurement status reports.
• Develop and manage supplier relationships, conduct supplier meetings, and evaluate supplier qualifications.
• Prepare and issue RFQs, evaluate quotations, negotiate contracts, and apply total cost of ownership analysis.
• Support global supply‑chain initiatives, contribute to bid input for new contracts, and enforce company policies.

Required profile

• Proven experience in equipment procurement and supply‑chain management.
• Strong understanding of procurement procedures, cost control, and contract management.
• Ability to lead a team of purchasers and coordinate with legal, finance, and operations functions.
• Excellent analytical skills for supplier evaluation and total cost of ownership assessments.

Required skills

• IFS (Enterprise Resource Planning) system proficiency.
• RFQ preparation and bid evaluation.
• Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) analysis.
