Senior Backend Software Engineer

About the role

Archy is a Series C vertical SaaS company building AI-powered dental practice management software. It is looking for a Senior Backend Software Engineer to join its growing team and help build reliable, scalable systems around its Java Spring Boot backend, so that dental professionals can focus on patient care.

Key responsibilities

• Own the end-to-end delivery of major product updates, managing the release lifecycle so high-impact features are deployed reliably and perform well in production.
• Use AI tools such as Claude to speed up boilerplate and execution, while keeping full ownership of the logic, security and architecture of the code.
• Work with product teams to integrate and improve AI capabilities in the Archy platform.
• Collaborate with the Frontend team to ensure smooth integration between the Java Spring Boot backend and the React/TypeScript frontend.
• Take part in code reviews, give and receive feedback, and identify ways to improve team efficiency.
• Estimate and plan development effort for projects to ensure timely, high-quality delivery.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent experience.
• 6+ years of experience as a backend engineer, focused on writing clean, quality code.
• Strong written and spoken English, at B2 level or higher.
• Experience releasing high-traffic features or major platform migrations.
• A customer-centric mindset, understanding that dental practices rely on the platform to run smoothly.

Required skills

• Java Spring Boot or similar frameworks.
• Hands-on experience with Snowflake or enterprise cloud data warehouses for large-scale data.
• Deep focus on testing, stability and performance.
