Senior Director – Latin America Energy, Power & Utilities

About the role

Fitch Group is seeking a Senior Director to lead its Latin American Corporates, Infrastructure & Project Finance franchise within the Energy, Power & Utilities sector. Based in São Paulo or Rio de Janeiro, you will shape credit views, drive rating decisions and expand Fitch’s market presence across the region.

Key responsibilities

• Lead coverage of a portfolio of corporates and project‑finance entities in the Energy, Power & Utilities space, with a focus on Brazil.
• Manage and develop a team of analysts, fostering a collaborative, high‑performance culture.
• Oversee quantitative and qualitative credit analysis, financial modelling and rating recommendation preparation.
• Chair internal rating committees and present clear, well‑supported rating proposals.
• Act as senior liaison for issuers, investors, bankers and advisors throughout the rating process.
• Represent Fitch at conferences, industry forums and client events to raise the franchise’s visibility.
• Produce and supervise timely research on sector trends, market developments and credit issues.

Required profile

• 10+ years of experience in credit analysis, project finance, capital markets, corporate or investment banking.
• Deep knowledge of the Energy, Power & Utilities sectors, including regulated utilities, generation, transmission, renewables or mid‑stream assets.
• Proven people‑management experience in an analytical environment.
• Strong understanding of financial statements, credit fundamentals and debt capital structures.
• Ability to communicate complex credit concepts clearly and commercially.
