Senior Director – Latin America Infrastructure & Project Finance (Energy & Utilities)

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Director to lead our Latin American coverage of Energy, Power & Utilities corporates and project finance transactions. The role is based in Brazil and focuses on delivering high‑quality credit analysis and rating recommendations across the region.

Key responsibilities

• Lead coverage of a portfolio of Energy, Power & Utilities entities in Latin America, with emphasis on Brazil.
• Manage and develop a team of analysts, fostering a collaborative, high‑performance culture.
• Oversee quantitative and qualitative credit analysis, including detailed financial modeling.
• Chair internal rating committees and present clear rating recommendations.
• Act as senior liaison for issuers, investors, bankers and advisors.
• Communicate Fitch’s credit views and sector outlook through meetings, calls, written commentary and research.
• Contribute to the strategic direction of Fitch’s Latin America CIPF franchise and represent the firm at conferences and industry events.
• Partner with cross‑regional teams to strengthen the One CIPF approach.
• Produce timely research on sector trends and credit issues.
• Mentor junior team members to build analytical depth.

Required profile

• 10+ years of experience in credit analysis, project finance, capital markets, corporate or investment banking.
• Deep knowledge of Energy, Power & Utilities sectors, including regulated utilities, generation, transmission, renewables or midstream assets.
• Proven people‑management experience in an analytical environment.
• Strong understanding of financial statements, credit fundamentals and debt capital structures.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for technical and non‑technical audiences.
• Fluency in English and Portuguese; Spanish is a strong plus.
