Reserving Actuarial Specialist

About the role

Join AIG as a Reserving Actuarial Specialist to support the quantification of risk, pricing, and reserving for both insurance and reinsurance lines across commercial and consumer products. You will work closely with Finance, Claims, Operations, Marketing and Risk Management to improve portfolio profitability and regulatory compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Define technical provisions for Local and US GAAP and review reserve levels for insurance and reinsurance companies.
• Write appointed actuary reports for regulators and support external actuarial audit processes.
• Conduct profitability studies, IBNR analyses, and LTP studies for Latin America, communicating results to stakeholders.
• Manage capital level reviews, risk appetite definitions, and budget loss ratios.
• Lead Brazil regulatory annual activities, maintain actuarial databases, and ensure data accuracy.

Required profile

• Technical reserving and portfolio analysis experience, with pricing exposure considered a plus.
• Actuarial Bachelor’s degree (MIBA required) and recognized experience in the insurance/reinsurance market.
• Advanced English skills and ability to work on detailed technical execution.
• Capacity to develop team skills, manage deadlines and solve problems.
