Senior Financial Planning Analyst

About the role

Springer Nature is seeking a Senior Financial Planning Analyst to join its finance team in Sao Paulo. The role will act as a strategic partner, ensuring high‑quality financial planning, performance monitoring and management analysis to support business decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the preparation of the annual budget, forecasts and periodic revisions.
• Analyse budget‑vs‑actual variances for revenue, cost and expense items, identifying drivers and risks.
• Partner with the Commercial team on business cases, P&L reviews and profitability analyses.
• Prepare and deliver regular management reports, including weekly executive summaries and daily sales updates.
• Execute the monthly management close, ensuring data accuracy and providing critical financial insights.
• Calculate and monitor royalties payable, ensuring compliance with contractual terms.
• Manage content‑investment amortisation and related financial calculations.
• Validate sales data through accounting reconciliations, sales‑return provisions and delivery confirmations.
• Support internal and external audits with strong controls and documentation.
• Drive automation and continuous improvement of FP&A processes and reporting.

Required profile

• Proven experience in financial planning, budgeting and forecasting.
• Strong analytical ability to interpret variances and financial performance.
• Experience working closely with Commercial, Accounting and cross‑functional stakeholders.
• Ability to act as a strategic business partner and support senior leadership decision‑making.
