Senior Product Designer

About the role

Alternative Payments is building the financial operating system for SMBs, starting with MSPs and accounts receivable and moving into accounts payable, AI-powered analytics and beyond. It is looking for a Product Designer with a research-first mindset, blending deep UX research with end-to-end product design, from discovery to polished interface. The role works closely with Product Managers, engineers and stakeholders, and is described as remote-first.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and run user research (interviews, usability testing, surveys, data analysis) to uncover insights and validate design decisions
• Frame research questions, choose the right method for each problem and keep a continuous discovery cadence alongside delivery
• Synthesize findings into actionable design opportunities and help shape the product roadmap
• Maintain a shared research repository so insights compound over time
• Design intuitive, accessible and consistent interfaces for web applications, from low-fidelity wireframes to high-fidelity prototypes
• Partner with engineers during implementation to maintain design quality and fidelity
• Work with Product Managers on scope, requirements and success metrics, and present concepts and findings to stakeholders

Required profile

• 5+ years of professional experience as a Product Designer, UX/UI Designer or similar role
• Hands-on experience leading UX research end-to-end, from study design and recruiting to synthesis and sharing results
• Strong portfolio showing problem-solving skills, attention to detail and the ability to design complex workflows
• Fluency across qualitative and quantitative methods, with good judgment about which fits each question
• Clear communication with technical and non-technical audiences, and comfort in a fast-paced, collaborative, remote-first environment

Required skills

• Proficiency with Figma (or similar tools) for design, prototyping and collaboration
• Understanding of accessibility principles and best practices
• Nice to have: front-end prototyping (hand-coded or AI-assisted), fluency using AI in the process, B2B SaaS or fintech experience, payment product experience, knowledge of behavioral design or cognitive psychology
