Senior Software Engineer - Alti (AI)

About the role

Alternative Payments is building the financial operating system for SMBs, starting with accounts receivable and now expanding into accounts payable, AI-powered analytics and beyond. It is hiring a Senior Software Engineer for Alti, its AI agent product launched in July 2026, which is growing fast with more agents, automated routines and its own machine learning models alongside LLMs. This is a remote position based in Brazil.

Key responsibilities

• Build and ship Alti product features end to end, from conversational AI to agents and automated routines.
• Design and improve RAG pipelines and prompt strategies.
• Build LLM evaluation pipelines to measure quality and catch regressions.
• Set up monitoring and observability for AI features: prompts, models and usage.
• Help take ML models to production with monitoring and continuous feedback loops.
• Partner with Product and Design to find where AI and ML can solve real customer problems.

Required profile

• Solid experience as a software engineer building and shipping product features.
• Hands-on work on AI products in the last 12 months (LLMs, agents, AI features).
• Strong skills in at least one of Go, TypeScript/JavaScript or Python.
• A product mindset focused on what reaches users, not just the model.
• Comfort in a fast-paced environment where you own many parts of the delivery chain.
• Professional working proficiency in English.

Required skills

• Nice to have: prompt engineering, AI monitoring and observability tooling, autonomous agents across channels (Slack, Teams, WhatsApp), and experience deploying ML models with monitoring and feedback loops.
• Nice to have: fintech, payments or financial products background, and experience building and scaling ML/LLM products at an early-stage startup (Seed to Series B).

What we offer

• Total compensation of $90,000 - $105,000 plus equity.
