Senior Software Engineer - Product Expansion Team

About the role

Alternative Payments is building the financial operating system for SMBs, starting with accounts receivable and now expanding into accounts payable, AI-powered analytics and more. It is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join its Product Expansion team, which owns two core products: Accounts Payable (currently building multi-use virtual cards) and Analytics. The role focuses on architecting and developing core backend services, designing event-driven data pipelines and keeping systems reliable and performant for financial transactions. It is fully remote and open to candidates eligible to work in Brazil.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain core backend services handling data processing, transformations and business logic.
• Design idempotent, queue-based event-driven workflows (Kafka, RabbitMQ, etc.) to process messages without duplication.
• Write clean, maintainable code in Go (or a similar language) and SQL (Postgres or equivalent).
• Implement unit, integration and end-to-end tests, instrument metrics and alerts, and resolve issues quickly.
• Work with Product and Operations teams to deliver features rapidly, and pair with teammates to improve tooling and processes.

Required profile

• 4-7 years of professional software development with senior-level responsibilities.
• Experience on payment platforms or with payments/financial transactions.
• Solid testing discipline and familiarity with Git workflows, code reviews and CI/CD pipelines.
• Nice to have: data lake/analytics experience (ClickHouse, dbt, Dagster, Spark/Databricks, Snowflake), analytics product experience, frontend with TypeScript, financial/data reconciliation, accounting principles, observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana), compliance/security basics, mentoring or project leadership, and comfort in fast-paced environments.

What we offer

• Total compensation of $90,000-$105,000 plus equity.
