Software Engineer – Electro‑Hydraulic Drive Systems

About the role

As a Software Engineer you will join Bosch Rexroth’s electro‑hydraulic drive systems team, creating production‑ready control software for construction machinery such as wheel loaders and excavators. You will work closely with global platform teams and local application groups to deliver scalable, reusable solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and evolve control software for mobile work machines on global ESS platforms.
• Support local application teams and external partners during commissioning, optimization, and validation on real machines.
• Design electronically controlled hydrostatic drive systems and define market‑specific extensions.
• Translate regional customer requirements into platform‑compatible features.
• Validate prototypes, provide structured feedback, and ensure continuous platform improvement.
• Coordinate functional safety and regulatory compliance across projects.
• Collaborate with software development, sales, and product management to ensure successful project delivery.

Required profile

• Completed degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Mechatronics or a comparable qualification.
• Several years of experience in development or optimisation of drive systems for machines.
• Willingness to undertake a 6‑to‑12‑month training period in Germany.
