Specialized Consultant for Social Work Project Budgeting

About the role

The United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN‑Habitat) is seeking a Specialized Consultant to support budgeting for the Periferia Viva social‑work project in Santo André, Brazil. The consultant will work closely with UN‑Habitat’s operational and technical teams to ensure timely and accurate financial planning.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and manage detailed budgets for the "Núcleo Nova Centreville" component of the project.
• Coordinate with municipal authorities and UN‑Habitat staff to align financial plans with project objectives.
• Monitor expenditures, prepare financial reports, and recommend adjustments as needed.
• Provide technical guidance on budgeting best practices and compliance with UN‑Habitat standards.

Required profile

• Proven experience in project budgeting, preferably within social‑work or urban development contexts.
• Strong analytical abilities and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills in English; Portuguese is an advantage.
• Ability to work on‑site in Santo André for the contract duration.
