Technical Project Assistant – CITinova II Project

About the role

The United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) is seeking a Technical Project Assistant for the CITinova II Project, a GEF‑funded initiative promoting integrated metropolitan planning and innovative urban technology investments in Brazil. The assistant will be based at the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MCTI) office in Brasilia and will support both UNEP and MCTI teams.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with the Project Management Unit and the National Directorate on implementation, coordination, reporting, monitoring and evaluation activities.
• Assist in planning and governance activities, including organization of meetings, seminars, workshops and other events.
• Organize official travel and support procurement and recruitment processes related to the project.
• Draft, translate and review documents, presentations and technical products.
• Document lessons learned, best practices and maintain project information, including terms of reference, deliverables, images, videos and meeting reports.
• Conduct research and develop technical content as needed for the project.
• Support stakeholder engagement and capacity‑building activities when requested.
• Contribute to communication and operational tasks as required.

Required profile

• Will work under the supervision of the UNEP Brazil Representative.
• Close collaboration with the MCTI National Director and the Project Management Unit.
• Based onsite at the MCTI office in Brasilia.
