AI Development Project Manager

About the role

AFRY is looking for an AI Development Project Manager to coordinate AI initiatives across its Global Division Industry. The role sits at the intersection of engineering delivery, digital development and business transformation, turning AI use cases into concrete value for projects and internal operations.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate and drive AI initiatives across operations within the Global Division Industry.
• Develop and maintain an AI development portfolio with clear prioritisation routines.
• Translate delivery and project needs into practical AI use cases and prioritized backlogs.
• Collaborate with engineering teams, project managers, data/AI specialists and IT to ensure feasibility and scalability.
• Ensure AI solutions are deployed with clear ownership, governance and adoption.
• Support AI initiatives in sales, bid processes and internal efficiency projects.
• Track value realization, risks and dependencies to keep AI development aligned with business priorities.
• Act as a bridge between strategy, operations and technical implementation.

Required profile

• Solid experience in project or program management within IT, engineering, industrial projects or consulting.
• Proven ability to drive cross‑functional development initiatives in complex organisations.
• Strong understanding of engineering and project delivery processes (design, execution, quality, safety).
• Practical exposure to data, digital or AI‑enabled solutions.
• Hands‑on AI development capability, such as building simple AI tools or agents.
