Experienced Accountant (Full-time)

About the role

Central Maine Motors Auto Group is seeking an Experienced Accountant to join its in‑person finance team. This full‑time role offers the chance to work in a fast‑paced, family‑owned dealership that values hard work, excellence, and a supportive environment.

Key responsibilities

• Process and review a variety of financial transactions accurately and promptly.
• Reconcile entries against general‑ledger balances and maintain accounting ledgers.
• Perform cost accounting duties, charge expenses to appropriate accounts, and manage petty‑cash transactions.
• Ensure records comply with state and federal regulations.
• Identify process improvements and cost‑saving opportunities.
• Participate in cross‑training with other accounting team members.
• Maintain confidentiality of all financial information.

Required profile

• Strong attention to detail and critical‑thinking abilities.
• Ability to multi‑task, work independently, and uphold confidentiality.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and related terminology.
• Experience reviewing fiscal transactions for compliance with laws and policies.
