Legal Counsel – Real Estate Development (Brazil)

About the role

We are seeking a Legal Counsel to support complex real‑estate development projects in Brazil. The role will provide high‑impact legal advice across acquisition, financing, construction and disposition phases, working closely with development, finance and construction teams as well as external investors and government bodies.

Key responsibilities

• Provide legal guidance throughout all stages of real‑estate development, including land acquisition, due diligence, permitting, financing, construction, leasing and sales.
• Draft, review and negotiate complex agreements such as purchase agreements, development contracts, leases, construction contracts and loan documents.
• Identify, assess and mitigate legal risks associated with transactions and projects.
• Conduct legal research on real‑estate regulations, compliance requirements and industry standards.
• Collaborate with internal cross‑functional teams and liaise with external stakeholders including government agencies, lenders, investors and consultants.

Required profile

• Law degree from a recognized university and active bar admission in the country of residence.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in real‑estate law with a focus on development and transactions.
• At least 2 years of experience handling construction, real‑estate or dispute‑related matters.
• Prior in‑house experience in large‑scale or luxury real‑estate development projects.
• Fluency in English and Portuguese with strong legal drafting capability in English.
