Legal Counsel – Real Estate Development

About the role

We are seeking a Legal Counsel to support high‑value real estate development projects across international markets. The role involves providing end‑to‑end legal guidance throughout the full lifecycle of transactions, from acquisition to disposition, while ensuring regulatory compliance and risk mitigation.

Key responsibilities

• Provide legal advice on land acquisition, due diligence, permitting, construction, financing, leasing, and asset disposal.
• Draft, review, and negotiate purchase contracts, development agreements, leases, construction contracts, and loan documentation.
• Identify, assess, and mitigate legal and commercial risks associated with development and transactional activities.
• Conduct legal research and ensure compliance with applicable real‑estate laws and regulations.
• Collaborate with internal development, finance, and construction teams and liaise with external stakeholders such as government authorities, investors, lenders, consultants, and contractors.

Required profile

• Law degree from a recognized university and active bar admission in the country of residence.
• 5+ years of experience in real‑estate law with strong exposure to development and transactional matters.
• Experience in construction, real‑estate disputes, or related legal fields, preferably in‑house.
• Commercial mindset with strong analytical, problem‑solving, and risk‑assessment abilities.
• Fluency in English and Portuguese with excellent legal drafting proficiency in English.
