Legal Counsel – Remote

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Real Estate Development Lawyer to join our legal team as a remote Legal Counsel. The role will provide comprehensive legal support across all phases of real‑estate development projects, from acquisition and financing to construction and disposition.

Key responsibilities

• Advise on land acquisition, due diligence, entitlement, permitting, construction and design agreements.
• Draft, review and negotiate purchase agreements, development agreements, leases, construction contracts and loan documents.
• Manage legal risks, conduct research on real‑estate laws and regulations, and ensure compliance.
• Collaborate with internal development, finance and construction teams and interface with government agencies, lenders, investors and consultants.
• Stay updated on legal developments and industry best practices in real‑estate development.

Required profile

• Law degree from a reputable university and admission to the bar in the country of residence.
• 5+ years of experience in real‑estate law, focusing on development and transactions, including at least 2 years in construction or real‑estate disputes.
• Prior in‑house experience with luxury real‑estate developers is highly desirable.
• Dual qualification in a common‑law jurisdiction is a plus.
• Fluent in English and Portuguese.
