Legal Director (Brazil)

About the role

Sherwin-Williams is seeking a Legal Director to provide proactive, business‑focused legal advice to senior management in Brazil. The role supports all operational and strategic legal matters, ensuring compliance with local and national regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Provide timely legal counsel to business and country management on contracts, commercial agreements, advertising, branding, and regulatory issues.
• Draft, review and negotiate distributor, vendor, and other commercial contracts.
• Manage collections, bankruptcy, antitrust, product safety, anti‑corruption, privacy, employment, environmental, and transport matters.
• Support merger and acquisition activities and oversee corporate documentation.
• Manage claims and litigation, and coordinate with the Assistant General Counsel and other legal teams.
• Deliver regular legal training to employees and monitor legal trends affecting the business.

Required profile

• Authorized to practice law in Brazil and in good standing with the Brazil Bar.
• At least 15 years of experience as an attorney, preferably with corporate, commercial and regulatory exposure.
• Strong leadership and people‑management capabilities, including influencing across functions.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strategic mindset, sound judgment, high integrity and ability to work with senior executives.
