Azure Service Manager

About the role

Mars is looking for an Azure Service Manager to act as the operational backbone of its enterprise cloud hosting ecosystem. You will bridge technical engineering teams, business units and managed service partners so that Microsoft Azure infrastructure and database platforms run reliably, perform well and cost-effectively. You will own end-to-end service health, operational governance, SLA/SLO performance, vendor management, disaster recovery readiness and continuous service improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Own availability, reliability and lifecycle governance of enterprise Azure infrastructure and managed database services
• Define, monitor, analyse and report on SLAs, SLOs, KPIs and operational health scorecards
• Drive automation, process refinement and service improvement to reduce toil and prevent recurring incidents
• Azure VMs: oversee provisioning, maintenance windows, OS patching, rightsizing, capacity and DR failover readiness
• Azure SQL VMs: high availability, failover clustering, performance tuning, patching and storage IOPS
• Azure Storage: governance, security, backup retention, data archival, lifecycle management and replication (LRS, GRS, ZRS)
• Azure Database for MySQL: platform health, connection pooling, high availability, backup/restore testing and capacity planning
• Hold third-party vendors, MSPs and system integrators accountable to SLAs and contracts
• Lead cross-functional response during critical outages with clear executive communication

Required profile

• 5+ years of progressive experience in ITSM, cloud operations or IT infrastructure operations in an enterprise hybrid-cloud environment
• Strong ITIL background (Incident, Problem, Change, Capacity, Availability, CSI); ITIL v3 or v4 Foundation certification preferred
• Proven experience managing vendors and stakeholders against SLAs
• Professional fluency in English, written and spoken

• Solid operational knowledge of Azure VMs, Azure SQL / Managed Instances, Azure Storage, PaaS databases, Azure Monitor and Log Analytics
• ITIL practices
