Backend Software Engineer - Golang

About the role

1GLOBAL, a global mobile communications provider, is hiring a Backend Software Engineer in São Paulo, Brazil, to join its Technology department. The engineer works on the Network API, the xSIM Management System and the Recording Platforms, which together power subscriber configuration, xSIM updates and mobile compliance and recording services. The workplace is hybrid, and the selected candidate receives onboarding and training in Lisbon, Portugal.

Key responsibilities

• Estimate effort accurately to support roadmap planning and expectation management.
• Design and implement resilient, scalable, secure and fault-tolerant architectures.
• Develop new features and support existing systems across the three platforms, adding small incremental improvements.
• Maintain and update existing solutions and write comprehensive tests for regression and validation.
• Set up monitoring and observability procedures and metrics.
• Take part in code reviews and keep technical documentation up to date.

Required profile

• 3+ years of professional backend development experience, preferably with Go; strong Java experience is also welcome.
• Understanding of concurrency models, asynchronous workflows, IPC and synchronization.
• Experience with RESTful APIs, relational databases (e.g. PostgreSQL) and non-relational ones (e.g. Redis, MongoDB, DynamoDB).
• Unit, integration and benchmark testing, and experience with microservices and distributed systems.
• DevOps tools and practices, Git workflows and agile collaboration.
• Effective written and spoken English for a largely asynchronous, remote work environment.

Nice to have

• Idiomatic Go code and profiling with pprof and trace.
• Kubernetes deployment and monitoring, and cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP or Azure.
• Prometheus and Grafana, and event-driven architectures (Kafka, RabbitMQ, ActiveMQ).
• MSML and SIP experience.
