Chief Accountant

About the role

DEME is expanding its operations in Brazil and seeks a Chief Accountant to lead local accounting and statutory activities, ensuring compliance and supporting financial reporting for both current projects and future growth.

Key responsibilities

• Manage all statutory accounting and reporting requirements, ensuring compliance with Brazilian GAAP (CPC) and supporting IFRS reporting to headquarters.
• Coordinate month‑end and year‑end closing activities, balance‑sheet reconciliations, cash‑flow management and intercompany accounting.
• Lead internal and external audits, acting as the primary contact for auditors and ensuring timely statutory filings.
• Collaborate with external accounting, payroll and tax advisors to support payroll and tax compliance.
• Provide financial reporting and insights to local management and review financial and contractual clauses for projects.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting.
• 3–5 years of experience in statutory accounting and financial reporting in Brazil.
• Strong knowledge of Brazilian Accounting Standards (CPC/Brazilian GAAP) and IFRS.
• Proficiency in Portuguese and English.
• Proactive, solution‑oriented mindset with ability to work independently.
