Communications Assistant for Parliamentary Climate Observatory

About the role

The Parliamentary Observatory on Climate Change and Just Transition (OPCC) seeks a Communications Assistant to enhance visibility, outreach, and knowledge‑sharing across its network of parliamentarians and staff in Latin America and the Caribbean. Working under the supervision of ECLAC and in close coordination with the OPCC team, the consultant will support the dissemination of legislative developments, best practices, and technical content related to climate change, just transition, and inclusive green development.

Key responsibilities

• Produce and adapt communication materials (briefs, newsletters, social media posts) that highlight OPCC activities and outcomes.
• Facilitate the distribution of legislative information, analytical products, and parliamentary experiences to network members.
• Strengthen engagement with parliamentarians, parliamentary staff, and relevant stakeholders through targeted outreach.
• Support the creation of knowledge‑exchange platforms and promote mutual learning among participating countries.

Required profile

• Background in communications, public information, or related fields.
• Familiarity with climate‑change, just‑transition, and green‑development topics.
• Experience working with inter‑parliamentary or international organizations is an advantage.
