Consultant for ATHIS Training Facilitation in Santos

About the role

The United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN‑Habitat) is seeking a consultant to support the ATHIS (Assistência Técnica de Habitação de Interesse Social) training project in Santos, Brazil. The assignment lasts five months and focuses on designing and delivering a training programme that equips municipal professionals with the technical knowledge needed for sustainable social housing solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in developing the initial premises and identify priority thematic areas for the ATHIS training plan based on the project’s capacity needs assessment.
• Design a comprehensive training plan and create materials for a three‑module course targeting municipal professionals.
• Facilitate training sessions, ensure effective knowledge transfer, and adapt content to local contexts.
• Coordinate with UN‑Habitat, the São Paulo Council of Architecture and Urbanism (CAU/SP), and the Brazilian Cooperation Agency (ABC) to align training with project objectives.
• Monitor participant progress, gather feedback, and produce regular implementation reports for the Head of the Brazil Office.

Required profile

• Proven experience in developing and delivering training programmes, preferably in the housing or urban development sector.
• Ability to conduct capacity‑needs assessments and translate findings into actionable training content.
• Strong collaboration skills to work with UN‑Habitat teams, local authorities, and partner organisations.
