Customer Solutions Engineer (Ruby on Rails) - Remote Brazil

About the role

MyTime is a cloud-based scheduling, payments and automated marketing platform used by multi-location chains and franchises. This remote position in Brazil leads the design and development of data migration tools and processes that let new customers go live with the Point of Sale / Appointment Scheduling / CRM solution. The role works closely with the SaaS implementation manager to understand customer needs and integration points.

Key responsibilities

• Design and build data migration tools and processes for moving clients, appointments and transactions from legacy systems into MyTime
• Develop and maintain web scrapers that extract data elements and import them into the right database fields
• Investigate legacy software to find the best approach for data extraction
• Implement a migration pipeline between two enterprise systems, often using a data integration platform and sometimes a continuous syncing solution
• Create individual migration jobs tailored to each customer's go-live date
• Write field-level transformation and validation code so data flows reliably
• Verify the pipeline works predictably, validating at each stage and generating reconciliation reports
• In some cases, lead or assist with custom client features needed before go-live

Required profile

• Must be based in Brazil and willing to work from home
• Fluent English, able to collaborate with the Brazilian team
• Minimum 2 years of Ruby on Rails experience
• Interest in building usable, scalable software with good test coverage and awareness of industry trends

Required skills

• Intermediate to expert proficiency with SQL database analysis and migration
• Experience pipelining data in an imperfect environment, handling retries, rate limits, HTTP errors and network issues
• Experience with agile software development environments
