Director, Strategic Communications Network

About the role

The Director, Strategic Communications Network will lead a global communications ecosystem that shapes transformative economic narratives. Based in Brazil, you will work across multiple countries to develop and deliver compelling stories on topics such as just transition, cost of living, and the political economy of AI.

Key responsibilities

• Define and evolve the overall strategic communications approach, adapting complex policy concepts for diverse political, cultural, and media environments.
• Manage and develop a global communications team, establishing clear responsibilities and fostering a high‑performing work culture.
• Provide strategic direction and capacity‑building support to communications hubs in various nations.
• Create shared practices, experimentation processes, and learning systems to strengthen collaboration across hubs.
• Lead rapid‑response communications, media engagement, messaging development, executive communications, ghostwriting, and high‑impact narrative moments.
• Partner with campaigns, policy, and program teams to align communications with broader strategic objectives.
• Build and maintain relationships with funders, donors, and strategic partners, supporting fundraising for the network.
• Represent the organization at events, partnerships, convenings, and sector discussions.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a strategic communications leader with a track record of influencing public discourse and policy.
• Strong understanding of narrative development around economic and policy issues.
• Ability to work across cultural contexts and respect local communication cultures.
• Excellent mentorship and training capabilities for communications professionals.
